Savoring Summer #14: Don’t Blink

IMG_1487 editMemory verse:  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

The second step on the “Romans Road” to Christ is recognizing the consequences of our sin.

P.S. See this post if you’re unfamiliar with the Romans Road!  Also, see this original post for info about this photo challenge and more about this reading plan I’m using this summer for the book of Romans (and I’d love to have you join in!)!

About the photo:  I almost missed him.  If I hadn’t walked over to look more closely at a flowering shrub, I would never have known that this beautiful little fawn was down there in the ditch, motionless, but watching me closely!  What a gift to see him up close!

  1. WOW what a cool shot!! I got to see one up close the other day too, and it always amazes me that the momma runs off and tells her baby to stay right where it is and she will be back, which I hope was this situation, but that they are obedient and stay perfectly still until their momma returns. How awesome God has made the minds of a fawn and his mother….help us to listen to our Heavenly Father when he gives us direction to “stay safe” with HIS instruction and guidance through HIS word, so He can return soon to see us patiently, obediently waiting upon HIM. Oh what a glorious day that will be!!

  2. thank you for the great comparison Alene!!! God’s protection is amazing. Through this whole pandemic I felt HIS protection over my mental state of being. It’s also made me look around and recognize my sin of busyness. Sitting still and being idle is such a hard thing for me. This virus made me sit back and take stock of the important things in life.
Also recognizing my sin of busyness made me face it head on. And with God’s help I can be
    victorious and slaying this struggle.
